Common questions
How do I connect to someone?
Students share their six-character code from Settings. Teachers enter it in Students → Add or Connect. For a Parent account, use the family invitation created by the teacher for that student.
Why did Tutti ask for microphone access?
The tuner and audio recorder need the microphone. Tutti asks only when you open one of those features. On iPhone or iPad, use Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone. On Android, use App info → Permissions → Microphone.
Why am I not receiving reminders?
Practice reminders are currently available on iPhone and iPad. Open Practice Reminders and enable a reminder, then confirm Notifications are allowed in iOS Settings. Also check Focus modes and that the reminder’s day and time are correct.
Can I use Tutti on Android or a school computer?
Open Tutti web in your browser. The Teacher, Pupil and Family previews use fictional data and need no account. A signed native Android beta is also available. On a shared computer, sign out when you finish.
What happens when the internet is unavailable?
The iPhone and native Android apps keep core records locally and retry pending changes when you reconnect. In the browser, only the app shell is cached: account records and private lesson materials require an internet connection and are not saved in the offline cache. Sample-preview edits last until you reload or close the page.
How do I open sheet music?
Open a lesson or Library / Files and choose the score. The browser displays PDFs with page and zoom controls, and supports PDF, PNG and JPEG uploads. Native apps use the platform document viewer; iPhone and iPad also support HEIC and HEIF uploads. Downloading a private score deliberately saves a copy to your device.
What do the bar and tempo marks on a task mean?
When a teacher writes something like “bars 9–16 at 60 bpm”, Tutti shows the bars in a box, as in a score, and the tempo as ♩ = 60. Tap the tempo to open the metronome at that speed, or start practice and turn on the click.
How do exam plans work?
A teacher can add an ABRSM or Trinity graded exam to a pupil’s page. Tutti lists each part of the exam with its marks, such as the three pieces, scales and arpeggios, sight-reading and aural tests. The teacher names the pieces from the current syllabus and marks each part as it becomes ready. Pupils and families can follow along. Tutti isn’t affiliated with ABRSM or Trinity.
Can I slow down my teacher’s example?
Yes. Open the recording and choose 50% or 75%. The pitch stays the same. Turn on Loop to repeat a short passage.
How do I delete my account?
Open Settings → Delete Account while online, review the warning, and confirm. This permanently removes the active account data and associated uploaded files.
Can a child under 13 create an account?
No. A parent or guardian should create a Parent account and connect through the child’s teacher. Do not enter an adult’s details into a Student account.
What should I do about unsafe or inappropriate content?
Use Tutti’s Report and Block controls, keep a record of the concern, and tell a trusted adult or the organisation responsible for the lessons. Do not use Tutti for emergencies. If a child is in immediate danger call 999. Children can contact Childline on 0800 1111; online sexual-abuse or grooming concerns can be reported to CEOP.
